ATS Clinical Practice Guidelines, Webinar Series: Updates in ARDS Definitions and Guidelines

This webinar series is proposed to highlight recently approved or published clinical practice guidelines. This webinar will focus on the updated clinical practice guidelines for adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Panelists will discuss the rationale for the update, the methodology used to create the guidelines, and the clinical recommendations for four interventions (corticosteroids, neuromuscular blocking agents, positive end-expiratory pressure [PEEP], and veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-V ECMO).

We will also compare and contrast the ATS ARDS guidelines with those recently published by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). Finally, we will discuss opportunities and challenges for guideline implementation. Target Audience: Physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, medical educators, and inter-professionals.
